This cover embarrassed me. "Kitty's Hot Date" with Colossus handing Kitty Pride a bunch of flowers while obviously on fire from the Phoenix Five power...barf. Luckily, the cover did not reflect the story that was contained within the glossy pages.
Yes, we see a bit of a "date" between Colossus and Kitty but it is not the main focus. Coming away from this I really started feeling the issues of people having the Phoenix Force power. Power is definitely going to all of the Five's head including Colossus. Kitty even calls him out as to what is going on with him claiming that she doesn't even recognize him.
I would readily say that this issue is a turning point in the story where it is quickly going away from "Avengers vs X-men" to "Avengers and the X-Men vs The Phoenix Five". I am so excited to see the direction this series is going and can't wait to see how it plays out.
I give this issue a 9/10...gotta love good comics!
