I just realized that I have not posted the link to The Panel Scanners podcast yet. NOW you have it and you can listen to Jonny, Darren and myself nerd out over our favorite (and least favorite) comics of current age.
There are also wonderful Retro-Comic reviews toward the end of each episode. This week (which will be episode 3) that we are filming tonight, I will discuss the wonderful series House Of M which is insanely relevant to current comics and was written back in 2005 (if you can believe it was that long ago...)

hey man i enjoyed the podcast and i have a few question.
ReplyDeletei just started reading comic's again and spiderman is my favorite. i started reading the scarlet spider and the new venom but had to stop because things kept referring to the spider island saga so once i finish that i'll go back to finishing the scarlet spider and venom but here's my question. you mentioned that there's a story where venom and ghost rider go to hell to fight blackheart, does that happen in the new venom series? i stopped at issue 8 and decided i should read the spider island story before read anymore.
I am glad you like Spider-Man so much, he has ALWAYS been my favorite but I am still catching up myself. I am currently re-reading the early Ultimate Spider-Man issues so I can catch up on the new issues with Morales as Spider-Man. I have yet to finish Spider Island myself but I know the events that went on during it. I will definitely read it in the near future.
DeleteOn to your questions. One, I am glad you like the Podcast! Please keep listening, we are trying to make it enjoyable for our listeners. As for Venom, yes the events in Hell happened in the new series. It begins in issue #13 and it has the new female Ghost Rider, Red Hulk and X-23 in Hell on Earth with him to battle Blackheart. It is done in an interesting way with it starting with issue #13 and continues in 13.1, 13.2, 13.3, 13.4 and lastly in #14. You can easily skip the Spider Island issues and start in #13 without being lost. I hope that helps!
