"The Quick and the Dead and the Really Dead"

Right out the gate I was chuckling at this issue. There is always something funny about Deadpool in a dress...especially while flirting with J.F.K. Also, per the cover, I was ready for a boxing match with Abe Lincoln which I was also not let down about. Other than that, it was more of the same really. I am not saying that it is a bad thing to see Deadpool run around and kill already dead presidents while making jokes about no one remembering a lot of them, it isn't. The thing is it has become a bit drawn out. The idea is great on paper and is quite funny but it is starting to lose the draw for me.

Regardless of my general losing attention to the story, it is still very funny and I am not going to discredit the writers for that. I guess I just want a little more content from my books than random attack montages where Deadpool kills people. It has been done, let's move on. I am not certain how much longer this story arc is going to happen but I hope it comes to a close soon. This is my first ever Deadpool ongoing but my friends have told me that they all had the same feelings when they have read him in the past. It is fun for a little while but it is easy to move on. If this book keeps the same pace, it seems I will be moving on much sooner than I anticipated.

  1. yeah i am with you on this one .. i loved Deadpool in Uncanny X-Force, so I decided to give him another chance - but there seems to be no substance in this title at all..

I guess there are a lot of people out there who like that stuff - but its just a little shallow

    1. So far I am loving Deadpool in Uncanny X-Force as well. His comedy seems to fit rather than be spewed over every page. I agree that substance is lacking in this title but I keep hoping to see it appear. This may be the first title since I have started reading again that I will outright drop due to the fact that it can't keep my attention because of ridiculousness.
