"Episode 4: Deserve's Got Nothin' To Do With It"

I mentioned on my twitter feed that this book is one of the reasons I love reading comics, and that is beyond true. Blue, our librarian main character and "Partner", our Gorilla friend are just so much fun to follow. Each issue we are learning more about them and the planet that this story is taking place. On top of that, there is no question that the audience of this title should be a little more mature. At the end of every chapter I am legitimately concerned about the characters and what may happen to them next.

This issue picks up after Blue and Partner were attacked (and Blue was taken offline) by an assassin. Oddly enough, it seemed that the planet itself was protecting Blue and this issue cleared it up a bit. The planet is basically alive and trying to figure out the best way to protect itself. Blue feels as if the planet is protecting him, but he could be very mistaken and it is not clear if he is right or not. Part of me feels that Partner is the complete personification of the planet, but I can't be certain and I am sure will be proven wrong.

The largest focus of this issue is that Blue and Partner feel that Blue's reason for being on the planet is different. Blue wants to figure out more about the watch and what the rebels are up to while Partner wants him to do something to help the planet. Interesting stuff. The book closes with Partner taking on the assassin and it isn't looking too good while Blue found a cache of money that the government was using to pay off rebels. There are so many moving cogs and only two issues left, I don't think I can wait another month for the next installment.
