I want to start by saying this is NOT a Spider-Man focused issue in the slightest. This .1 issue was created for the purpose of setting up the new Morbius The Living Vampire comic. There is a VERY brief overlap with the ongoing Spidey arc that is only covered in the first two pages of the book, other than that it is its own thing.
With that out of the way and by accepting that we don't get to see anymore of what "Doc Ock" is up to, it wasn't a terrible issue. It got those who were not certain about how Morbius became the living vampire up to speed. For those of us that read the issue where it happened (ASM #101) it refreshed our minds and gave us even more information on Michael as a child. It was interesting to see how much he suffered and why he made the choices that he did.
I have to say that going into this issue with the knowledge that it was about Morbius, I was not excited. After reading it my interest is piqued for the new Morbius book. I guess I may have to consider picking up another Spider-Man related title when January comes.
