Two of these books two weeks in a row is not a bad thing at all. I am really enjoying the way that they are doing the story telling here by starting after a big event and then wheeling back to show how the team is being formed. I find that the most interesting so far is Colossus and that is one of the main focal points of this issue. It is no secret at this point that any mutant that was super close to the Phoenix Force the last time around is having issues with their powers. It seems that Colossus is struggling with being able to control how to spread his metal form. With the knowledge of Forge and Cable this can be fixed, and that is why he is on the team.
It is still unclear as to what exactly was happening at the beginning of issues #1 and #2 but it seems that whatever the mission was, it went horribly wrong and people are not happy with the turn-out. We do get to see part of Cable's vision in this issue though which actually takes place a few days before the opening moments of this story. There are some really nice moments with Hope and Domino there and we get a glimpse of what may be the first major problem in this book. There definitely seems to be some sort of technological virus or something of the sort spreading and it is being controlled by someone that is still hidden by the shadows.
I am beyond excited for this book and the first two issues are just supporting my initial desire to read it. There is something very attractive about stories that deal with Cable struggling with himself and this book is definitely that. I look forward to issue #3.
