"We Fought a Zoo"

HA! Oh man, Deadpool is definitely put on this planet to make me laugh. I like the fact that I go into this comic not expecting gold and just laugh myself from cover to cover. This issue starts out with Wade on a beach with Invisible Woman, Emma Frost and She-Hulk, all of which are fighting over him. It closes with him getting a big kiss from She-Hulk...which ends up being the Ghost of Ben Franklin giving him mouth to mouth.

This leads into one of the weirdest side-kicks that no one but the protagonist can see. Not only is Wade fighting off undead presidents, he has a ghost side kick who is also a founding father. Anyhow, with Wade now revived, he is set to go after Teddy Roosevelt who happens to be hunting animals at the zoo. Of course, there are tons of one-liners and president beatings to follow. Ghost Ben Franklin explains to Wade that electricity will stop the undead presidents.

The fight concludes but it is decided that Wade may need some help with these creatures and we are left with him on the doorstep of Doctor Strange. No matter how silly this book is, it is fun. Looking back through the pages to write this review made me smile multiple times. I think there is some comic gold in here but you have to come into it not taking it seriously. If you can do that, you should read this title.
