Monsters of Evil: Part 1
It is time to see where this series is headed after Rememder left. As always, the comic opens with a previously page that gives the important information for new readers to grasp what is happening in the story. A recap for my readers....Flash finally has defeated Crime Master and Jack-o-Lantern and is a member of the Secret Avengers. A short while ago, he had a run-in with Hellstrom who had helped him stop the spread of hell in Las Vegas with Dr. Strange, Ghost Rider, X-23 and Red Hulk. After the events of sealing hell, for some reason the heroes that helped do that were marked which is finally being addressed in this series.
Fast-forward to this week's issue. Venom is on a mission of recon to find out what is going on with the D.O.A group. Venom finds a laboratory with the help of a reporter and runs into Hellstrom again. This time, he is not on his side and they fight. It also seems that possessions listen to Venom when he tells them to do something, this is in relation to his mark of the devil from the earlier issues.Venom's fight with Hellstrom leads to a conversation that actually tells Flash that he was marked and leads to a what would seem to be big moment as Venom.
So far Bunn seems to have a grasp on Flash as Venom and has me interested in the next issue. I can't wait to see what he does after the cliffhanger at the end of the issue and if the other heroes marked by the devil appear... I give Venom #23 an 8/10. If you haven't started reading this series yet, this may be a good jumping on point for you.
